    SEE ALSO...

MBNL1/2 Antibody (5F9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects MBNL1/2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-MBNL1/2 antibody (5F9) is available as the non-conjugated format. MBNL1, consisting of 370 amino acids, plays a crucial role in regulating pre-mRNA splicing, a vital process for gene expression. MBNL1 is predominantly expressed in various tissues, including skeletal muscle, prostate, lung, heart, small intestine, ovary, and placenta, highlighting importance in both muscle and organ function. MBNL1 and MBNL2 interact with expanded CUG repeats, implicated in myotonic dystrophy types 1 and 2 (DM1 and DM2). MBNL1/2 (5F9) monoclonal antibody localizes to nuclear foci in affected tissues, suggesting that accumulation of mutant RNA is pathogenic in these disorders. By antagonizing CUG-BP and ETR-3-like factors, MBNL1 and MBNL2 facilitate inclusion or exclusion of specific exons in pre-mRNAs, influencing splicing process and ultimately affecting gene expression. MBNL1/2 (5F9) antibody detection across multiple species makes this reagent invaluable for researchers studying molecular mechanisms underlying myotonic dystrophies and related conditions.
