Datasheets
  • Laminin β-1 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ Laminin β-1 antibody, cited in 13 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 1487-1786 mapping at the C-terminus of Laminin β-1 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Laminin β-1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P)
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Laminin β-1 Antibody (A-1) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Laminin β-1 Antibody (A-1) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

Laminin β-1 Antibody (A-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Laminin beta-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Laminin beta-1 antibody (A-1) is available as a non-conjugated format. Laminins play a crucial role in forming and maintaining basement membranes, which are specialized extracellular matrices that provide structural support to tissues and influence various cellular processes. Laminin beta-1 is a key component of these matrices, consisting of a heterotrimeric structure formed by α, β, and γ chain subunits. This unique structure allows laminins to self-assemble and interact with other matrix components, such as type IV collagen and proteoglycans, facilitating stable basement membrane formation. These membranes are essential for maintaining tissue integrity and regulating cell behavior, including proliferation, migration, and differentiation. The human Laminin β-1 gene is located on chromosome 7q22 and is widely expressed in tissues that produce basement membranes, highlighting its importance in both normal physiology and potential pathological conditions. Anti-Laminin beta-1 antibody (A-1) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying basement membrane formation dynamics and implications in various diseases, including cancer and fibrosis.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Laminin β-1 (A-1): sc-17810 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well on blots; see imageWe compared the A-1 mouse monoclonal antibody to laminin beta1 with the older LT3 rat monoclonal antibody using secondary antibodies to mouse and rat respectively. The tissue was a homogenate of mouse choroid plexus, a rich source of laminin beta1, that had been frozen and thawed. Both antibodies worked well, but both anti-rat IgG and the mouse kappa BP stained lower MW bands. They may be fragments of laminin beta1, as they seem to migrate above the molecular weights of heavy and light chains, but more testing is needed. We have not yet tested it for immunofluorescence.
