Laminin α-2 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Laminin α-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Laminin α-2 antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Laminin α-2 is a crucial component of basement membranes, which are specialized extracellular matrices that provide structural support to tissues and play a vital role in cellular functions. Laminin α-2 protein is composed of three chains—α, β, and γ—that form a heterotrimer, allowing for self-assembly and interaction with other matrix components. This structural versatility is essential for the formation and maintenance of basement membranes, which are found beneath epithelial cells, surrounding blood vessels, and enveloping muscle and nerve tissues. Proper assembly and function of Laminin α-2 are critical for muscle cell integrity, and mutations in Laminin α-2 gene are linked to congenital muscular dystrophy in humans, highlighting its importance in muscle development and maintenance. Laminin α-2 (B-4) monoclonal antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying this protein′s role in various biological processes and diseases, providing insights into its function and interactions within the extracellular matrix.

Hello  I would like to know if it’s recommended to use BSA or non fat milk as a diluent for the antibody and to block the membrane ?  I’m using antibody for laminin alpha 2 subunit (sc-55605) Thank you in advance

Asked by: S Tlep
For a diluent, we recommend using PBS. You can use either BSA, non-fat milk, or our UltraCruz Blocking Reagent sc-516214 as a blocking reagent.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Laminin α-2, sc-55605?

Asked by: TinTin
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Asked by: Mahdieh
Thank you for your question. Laminin α-2 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal that is recommended for detection of Laminin α-2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB (Western blot) and IF (immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry on fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in methanol or acetone). This antibody has not yet been tested on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
