SEE ALSO...

Ku70 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ku70 protein of human origin through various applications, including western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Ku70 (A-9) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ku70 protein, located in the nucleus, plays a crucial role in DNA repair and maintenance of genomic stability. Ku70 forms a heterodimeric complex with Ku86, which is essential for the recognition and binding of DNA double-strand breaks, thereby facilitating the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) repair pathway. This function is vital for cellular response to DNA damage, as Ku70 helps prevent mutations and maintains the integrity of the genome, which is particularly important in the context of cancer and other genetic disorders. Ku70 protein also participates in transcriptional regulation, influencing the expression of genes involved in cell cycle control and apoptosis. Using Ku70 (A-9) monoclonal antibody in research can provide insights into the mechanisms of DNA repair and the implications of Ku70 in various diseases, making Ku70 (A-9) antibody an invaluable tool for studying cellular responses to DNA damage.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with Ku-70 (A-9): sc-5309 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend SK-MEL-24 (sc-364259) or MDA-MB-435S (sc-364184) whole cell lysates and A-431 (sc-2122), K-562 (sc-2130), Jurkat (sc-2132) or MCF7 (sc-2149) nuclear extracts to use as positive controls as we have Western blot data showing specific detection of Ku-70 in these cell lines.

What secondary is best to use with Ku-70 (A-9): sc-5309 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. While most anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies are appropriate for use with Ku-70 (A-9): sc-5309, we recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
