Klotho Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Klotho of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Klotho antibody (F-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Klotho is a type I transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in regulating aging and longevity, with expression being particularly abundant in the kidney and brain. Klotho is involved in several important physiological processes, including the regulation of mineral metabolism and the modulation of insulin signaling. Notably, Klotho acts as a co-receptor for fibroblast growth factors, which are essential for various cellular functions, including cell growth, differentiation, and survival. The interaction of Klotho with these growth factors highlights Klotho′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential implications in age-related diseases. The human Klotho gene, located on chromosome 13q12, encodes a 1012 amino acid protein that exhibits approximately 80% homology with its mouse counterpart. Deficiencies in Klotho expression have been linked to various systemic phenotypes that resemble human aging, such as arteriosclerosis and osteoporosis, underscoring Klotho′s importance in both health and disease.
