Insulin Antibody (2D11-H5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect insulin across multiple species, including mouse, rat, human, bovine, and porcine, through IP, IF, IHCP, and ELISA applications. Insulin mouse monoclonal antibody (2D11-H5) targets an epitope comprising amino acids 1-84 of full-length porcine insulin, ensuring robust and reliable binding. Insulin, a crucial peptide hormone synthesized by the pancreas, plays a vital role in regulating blood glucose levels by facilitating glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in cells, thereby decreasing blood glucose concentrations. Insulin is initially produced as preproinsulin, which is subsequently processed to proinsulin and finally to mature insulin, consisting of 51 amino acids divided into an A chain and a B chain connected by two disulfide bridges. Beyond glucose metabolism, insulin enhances cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids, and fatty acids, making insulin essential for overall cellular function and energy balance. The secretion of insulin is tightly regulated, with basal levels maintained in the absence of external stimuli and increased secretion in response to elevated blood glucose levels. Insulin exerts effects by binding to specific receptors on target cell membranes, initiating a cascade of intracellular events that promote metabolic activities. Dysregulation of insulin production or signaling can lead to conditions such as hyperproinsulinemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus, highlighting insulin′s importance in both research and clinical settings. Insulin mouse monoclonal antibody (2D11-H5) is recommended for researchers investigating insulin′s multifaceted roles in metabolism, mechanisms of action, and pathological implications of dysregulation. Insulin monoclonal antibody (2D11-H5) is available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated forms, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates.

How to dilute this antibody? What volumes can i use to arrive at 1:200?

Asked by: anjan1983
Thank you for your question. This antibody is provided as 200µg in 1ml (1000µl), which means you have 1µg of antibody per 5µl of solution. So to make a 1:200 dilution, you need to take 1µg (5µl of solution) into 1ml of your diluent (milk/blocking reagent).
