ILPIP Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ILPIP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ILPIP, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 juvenile chromosome region gene 2 (ALS2CR2), plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by interacting with X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP), a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein (IAP) family. The IAP family is known for its ability to inhibit caspases, thereby blocking the execution phase of apoptosis, which is vital for regulating cell death and survival. This regulation is particularly important in the context of cancer, as IAPs are implicated in the development and progression of various malignancies, making them attractive targets for therapeutic intervention. ILPIP enhances XIAP-mediated activation of the TGFβ-activated kinase 1/c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase 1 (TAK1/JNK1) signaling pathway, which provides protection against apoptosis induced by interleukin-1β converting enzyme and FAS. Notably, the protective effect of ILPIP against apoptosis is caspase-independent, highlighting its unique mechanism of action. When expressed alone, ILPIP moderately activates the TAK1/JNK1 signaling pathway, underscoring its role in cellular responses to stress and apoptosis. Anti-ILPIP antibody (C-12) is an essential tool for researchers studying apoptosis regulation and its implications in cancer biology.
