IL-28 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects IL-28 in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IL-28, a member of the interleukin family, plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in antiviral defense. IL-28 is secreted by immune cells, including macrophages and T-cells, and induces the expression of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, which are essential for presenting viral antigens to CD8+ T-cells. This function enables cytotoxic T-lymphocytes to recognize and eliminate virus-infected cells. IL-28 is part of a cytokine gene cluster located on human chromosome 19q13, which also includes IL-28A and IL-29, highlighting IL-28′s importance in the coordinated immune response.
