IL-10 Antibody (3C12C12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects IL-10 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). IL-10 (3C12C12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Interleukin-10, or IL-10, is a crucial 178 amino acid protein primarily secreted by TH2 cells, playing a vital role in immune regulation. IL-10 inhibits the activation of cytokine-targeted cells, potentially through the downregulation of CD25, the IL-2 receptor, on macrophages and B lymphocytes. Human and murine IL-10 share a high degree of sequence identity, with 81% similarity at the amino acid level and 73% at the cDNA level, indicating conserved functional roles across species. Both forms exist as non-covalently linked homodimers in solution and exert biological effects through the IL-10 receptor (IL-10R), a glycoprotein that can be induced in macrophages and fibroblasts by lipopolysaccharide stimulation. Elevated IL-10 expression has been observed in HIV-1 infected individuals, suggesting involvement in disease progression, making IL-10 a significant target for therapeutic interventions in various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.
