IGF-I Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects IGF-I in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IGF-I (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) is a critical peptide that plays a vital role in cellular growth and development, acting in both autocrine and paracrine manners to stimulate vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. IGF-I is primarily located in serum and secreted by the liver in response to growth hormone stimulation, which is essential for systemic effects on growth and metabolism. IGF-I is involved in regulating renal function, bone formation, and immune response, highlighting importance in various physiological processes. IGF-I activity is modulated by a family of six IGF-binding proteins (IGFBP1-6), which can either enhance or inhibit actions, thereby fine-tuning biological effects. Both IGF-I and IGF-II signal through IGF-IR receptor, which is structurally similar to insulin receptor, consisting of two extracellular alpha chains and two beta chains that transmit signals into cells, underscoring significance in growth regulation and metabolic processes.

Thank you for your question. We have not validated the antibody for zebrafish. The antibody is recommended for mouse,rat and human.

Could I possibly get a sample of your IGF1 Antibody (sc-518040) to test out! We are testing IGF-I from equine samples, so reactivity is very possible but not confirmed. I would be more than happy to send you pictures confirming the antibody's use for WBs!

Hi, can we use this (sc-518040) for IF and WB to detect IGF-1 in rat hippocampus (using either brain slices or brain tissue)? If yes, are there any published papers on this using this antibody? Couldn't find any myself. Thanks!
