IgD Antibody (OX60) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the IgD Chain C protein of mouse origin by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). IgD (OX60) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Immunoglobulin D (IgD) is primarily located on the surface of mature B cells, particularly in the spleen, where IgD functions as a transmembrane receptor molecule. This localization enables IgD to play a significant role in the activation and regulation of B cell responses, particularly in immune surveillance and adaptive immunity initiation. Unlike IgM, which is expressed in higher quantities, IgD exists in much lower levels and remains absent on immature B cells, highlighting IgD′s specific role in mature B cell function. IgD expression on B cells responds to modulation by cytokines such as interleukin-27, demonstrating immune regulation′s dynamic nature. In murine models, IgD absence doesn′t lead to major alterations in the overall immune system, suggesting that while IgD serves important functions, other immunoglobulin isotypes can compensate for IgD′s role.
