IgD Antibody (IgD26) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the IgD protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). IgD (IgD26) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Immunoglobulin D (IgD) is a crucial component of the immune system, primarily functioning as a transmembrane receptor on the surface of mature B cells, where IgD plays a significant role in the activation and regulation of B cell responses. IgD is predominantly found on the surface of B cells in the spleen, where IgD co-exists with Immunoglobulin M (IgM), although IgD is present in much lower quantities and is absent in immature B cells. IgD presence is essential for proper B cell functioning, aiding in antigen recognition and subsequent immune response activation. Expression of IgD on B cells is modulated by interleukin-27, highlighting IgD′s role in immune signaling pathways. While IgD inhibition in murine models doesn′t lead to significant alterations in overall immune response, IgD′s specific functions in human immunity underscore IgD′s importance in maintaining immune homeostasis.
