IgD Antibody (AMS 9.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects immunoglobulin D (IgD) in mouse samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). IgD is a crucial component of the immune system, primarily functioning as a transmembrane receptor on the surface of mature and naive B cells, where IgD plays a significant role in B cell activation and regulation. IgD is predominantly found on the surface of B cells in the spleen, and IgD expression is notably lower compared to immunoglobulin M (IgM), which is also co-expressed on these cells. IgD presence is essential for proper B cell functioning, as IgD helps initiate immune responses. Interestingly, interleukin-27 (IL-27) influences IgD surface expression, highlighting IgD′s role in immune signaling pathways. While IgD inhibition in mice does not lead to drastic changes in overall immune response, IgD′s specific functions in B cell maturation and activation underscore IgD′s importance in maintaining immune homeostasis. IgD (AMS 9.1) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying B cell biology and immune system regulation.
