SEE ALSO...

IFN-γRα Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects IFN-γRα in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IFN-γRα plays a crucial role in the immune response by serving as a receptor for interferon-gamma, a key cytokine involved in antiviral and immunomodulatory activities. IFN-γRα is primarily located on the surface of immune cells, where IFN-γRα facilitates the binding of interferon-gamma, leading to the activation of intracellular signaling pathways that promote the expression of genes involved in immune defense. This localization is vital because IFN-γRα ensures that immune cells can rapidly respond to infections and other immune challenges, thereby enhancing the body′s ability to fight off pathogens. IFN-γRα function depends on interaction with the IFN-γRβ chain, which is essential for receptor signaling capabilities. The proper assembly and function of this receptor complex are critical for the activation of downstream signaling molecules, such as Janus kinases and Stat proteins, which ultimately lead to the transcription of genes that mediate the immune response.

I am using IFN-γRα (D-3): sc-28363 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
