SEE ALSO...

Id3 Antibody (2B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Id3 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Id3 (2B11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Id3, a member of the Id family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins, plays a crucial role in cellular differentiation and proliferation by acting as a negative regulator of DNA binding for bHLH proteins. Id3 can dimerize with class A and B HLH proteins, preventing these complexes from binding to DNA and inhibiting gene expression necessary for muscle differentiation. As muscle cells differentiate, Id protein levels decrease, allowing for active heterodimer formation that promotes myogenic differentiation. Growth factors tightly regulate Id3 expression, and studies show reduced Id mRNA levels can delay quiescent cells′ reentry into the cell cycle upon growth factor stimulation, highlighting Id3 ′s significance in developmental processes and potential implications in muscle-related pathologies.

Can Id3 (2B11): sc-56712 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Id3 (2B11): sc-56712 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
