SEE ALSO...

ICAD Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ICAD protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ICAD (F-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ICAD protein, also known as DFF-45, plays a crucial role in the apoptotic process by acting as an inhibitor of the DNA fragmentation factor, which is essential for the controlled dismantling of cellular components during apoptosis. When cleaved by caspases, particularly CPP32, ICAD releases its inhibitory effect, allowing the activation of the DNA fragmentation factor that leads to the fragmentation of nuclear DNA, a hallmark of apoptosis. This process is vital for maintaining tissue homeostasis and preventing the development of cancer, as ICAD ensures damaged or unnecessary cells are efficiently removed from the organism. ICAD′s ability to regulate apoptosis highlights its importance in both normal physiological processes and in the pathogenesis of various diseases, making anti-ICAD antibody (F-8) a valuable tool for researchers studying cell death and its implications in health and disease.

Can ICAD (F-8): sc-17816 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, ICAD (F-8): sc-17816 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
