SEE ALSO...

HSP 47 Antibody (G-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects HSP 47 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HSP 47 antibody (G-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HSP 47, also known as collagen 1, serpinh1, and collagen-binding protein 1 (CBP1), is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum of procollagen-producing cells, where HSP 47 plays a crucial role in proper folding and assembly of collagen. HSP 47 is essential for biosynthesis of Collagen Type I, which maintains structural integrity of various tissues, including skin, bone, and cartilage. Through molecular chaperone activity, HSP 47 ensures procollagen folds correctly before secretion from cells, preventing accumulation of misfolded proteins that could lead to cellular stress and tissue damage. HSP 47 synthesis increases in response to transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), highlighting HSP 47′s role in cellular stress responses and tissue remodeling.

Do you have the blocking peptide for HSP 47 Antibody (G-12): sc-5293?

Asked by: Manjunath Nayak
Thank you for the question. This antibody was raised against amino acids 129-300 of HSP 47 of human origin. A blocking peptide / recomb. protein fragment with a length of >170 aas would commonly be too long to efficiently block the antibody binding sites of this monoclonal antibody in a competition assay. Unfortunately, we therefore do not offer the corresponding blocking / negative control reagent. Instead, you might want to try a -NIC or CRISPR or siRNA negative control in case you are working with cultured cells.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of canine origin. Do you know if this mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HSP47 is a good antibody for WBI used this antibody with mouse bone samples and gave me clean and strong bands. Primary antibody dilution 1:500. Secondary antibody m-IgGκ BP-HRP dilution 1:2000.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect antibody against Hsp47Hsp47 is collagen-specific ER chaperone. We used this antibodies for multiple applications including western blotting, immunocytostaining and immunofluorescence of tissues (paraffin). All staining was specific and strong. Specificity of this antibody was validated using inhibitor of up-stream molecule (site-1 protease). I strongly suggest to purchase this clone from Santa Cruz.
