HIV-1 p24 Antibody (24-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects HIV-1 p24 protein of HIV-1 origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). HIV-1 p24 (24-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HIV-1 p24 protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle as p24 forms the core of the virus, encapsulating viral RNA and essential enzymes necessary for replication. This structural protein is vital for viral stability and integrity, making p24 a key target for both diagnostic and therapeutic strategies against HIV. By understanding p24 function, researchers can develop more effective treatments and vaccines, as well as improve diagnostic assays for HIV infection. HIV primarily targets critical cells in the human immune system, such as helper T cells (specifically CD4+ T cells), macrophages, and dendritic cells, leading to the progression of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). HIV-1 p24 (24-4) monoclonal antibody′s ability to accurately detect p24 is essential for monitoring viral load and assessing antiretroviral therapy efficacy, thereby contributing to better patient management and outcomes.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with HIV-1 p24 (24-4): sc-69728?

We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems.
