Histone H10 Antibody (27) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Histone H10 in mouse, rat, human, bovine, and Xenopus samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Histone H10 is a lysine-rich member of the H1 family of linker histones, playing a crucial role in the organization and compaction of chromatin by interacting with linker DNA between nucleosomes. This unique variant serves as a replacement linker histone, expressed and incorporated into chromatin during terminal stages of differentiation or in cells with low rates of division, distinguishing Histone H10 from other somatic H1 histones that are typically replication-dependent. Histone H10 is widely expressed across various tissues in most vertebrates, which underscores a fundamental role in cellular processes. The gene encoding Histone H10, H1F0, is located on human chromosome 22q13.1 and is intronless, reflecting evolutionary conservation. Histone H10 undergoes various post-translational modifications, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, primarily on N-terminal tails, which are critical for regulating chromatin structure and function, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular differentiation.
