Histone H1 Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Histone H1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Histone H1 antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Histone H1 plays a crucial role in the structural organization of chromatin, as Histone H1 binds to linker DNA between nucleosomes, facilitating DNA compaction into higher-order chromatin structures. This compaction is essential for proper gene regulation and DNA accessibility during processes such as transcription and replication. Histone H1 maintains chromatin architecture integrity, and Histone H1 interactions with other histones and DNA are critical for cellular functions. Additionally, histones, including H1, undergo various post-translational modifications, such as methylation and acetylation, which can influence DNA and protein interactions, thereby impacting gene expression and chromatin dynamics.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-393358 X be used instead of the standard form sc-393358?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was medium detection of the ~32-33 kDa target protein in a HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix, but not detected in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested or in the HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix.
