Hi, I have question related to product number sc-8030. It is anti-Histone H1 antibody (AE-4). I wanted to know if this antibody is for all variants of H1 or a specific one. If it detects total H1, then can this be used for ChIP-seq experiment? Thanks.

Thank you for your question. This antibody is not selective of any Histone H1 modification. It has not been tested in ChIP-Seq, but we offer an agarose-conjugated version of this product that is recommended for IP-based experiments.

Thank you for your question. For HRP detection of this primary antibody we recommend m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102 or m-IgGκ BP-CFL 790: sc-516181 and m-IgGκ BP-CFL 680: sc-516180 for near-infrared detection.

Thank you for your question. This Histone H1 mouse monoclonal antibody was raised against leukemia biopsy cells of human origin. The exact epitope has not been mapped so we can not offer further information.

Hi, does this antibody work with monkey cells (Vero cells)? I get a more-less 15 kDa band only in my nuclear extract fraction and not cytoplasmatic. However, the molecular weight has me confused.. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. This antibody has been previously published in Vero cells (e.g., PMID: 22832119). The expected molecular weight is signficantly higher than 15 kDa, so it is not clear that would be representative of HIstone H1.

El anticuerpo tiene reactividad con peces teleosteos?

Gracias por su pregunta. En este momento, no somos conscientes de que alguien haya utilizado este anticuerpo con peces. Tampoco lo hemos probado en peces. Sin embargo, la histona es muy conservada y puede trabajar con peces. Thank you for your question. At this moment, we are not aware of anyone having used this antibody with fish. We also have not tested it in fish. However, histone is highly conserved and may work with fish.

I would like to use this antibody to detect Histone H1 in mice tissue samples. Is this possible?

Yes, this is absolutely possible. In this case, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, Histone H1 Antibody (AE-4): sc-8030 is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-8030 PE), fluoroscein (sc-8030 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-8030 AF488), Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-8030 AF647), TRITC (sc-8030 TRITC, 200 µg/ml) or Alexa Fluor® 405 (sc-8030 AF405, 100 µg/2 ml).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from could not get it to workGot a sample of this antibody to try. Unfortunately could not get any signal from chromatin samples of U2OS cells. Tried up to 1:200 - there's nothing - no signal, no background. Tried many times over several months, no luck, sorry. Other proteins in the same samples are fine (see review for pol delta cat subunit).
