SEE ALSO...

HERPUD2 Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects HERPUD2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HERPUD2 (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HERPUD2, or Homocysteine-responsive endoplasmic reticulum-resident ubiquitin-like domain member 2, is a crucial component of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, which is activated by the accumulation of misfolded proteins within the ER. HERPUD2 plays a significant role in the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. HERPUD2 is a 406 amino acid single-pass membrane protein that contains an N-terminal ubiquitin-like domain, which is vital for function in the ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD) system. The UPR is characterized by three key events: the inhibition of translation to prevent further protein accumulation, the upregulation of polypeptide-folding proteins, and the degradation of misfolded proteins. HERPUD2 helps to mitigate the detrimental effects of ER stress, thereby ensuring proper protein folding and function, which is critical for cell survival and function under stress conditions.
