Heme Oxygenase 2 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Heme Oxygenase 2 (HMOX2) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-HMOX2 antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HMOX2 plays a crucial role in producing carbon monoxide (CO) in the brain, where CO functions as a neurotransmitter, influencing various physiological processes. HMOX2 is constitutively expressed in mammalian tissues, distinguishing HMOX2 from HMOX1, which is highly inducible under stress conditions. The CO signaling pathway closely parallels that of nitric oxide, highlighting HMOX2′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and neuroprotection. HMOX2 is involved in heme metabolism, leading to biliverdin and free iron generation, which are vital for cellular antioxidant defense mechanisms. Understanding HMOX2 function is essential for elucidating HMOX2′s role in neurobiology and potential therapeutic applications in neurodegenerative diseases.

I am using Heme Oxygenase 2 (B-3): sc-17786 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WBI have got one clear band at 45 kd, much bigger than expected 36kd in THP1 lysate. So I am not sure whether this antibody could really recognize HMOX2 antigen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was strong detection of the ~36 kDa target protein in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested.
