HDAC4 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects HDAC4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HDAC4 (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HDAC4 protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression through function as a histone deacetylase, which removes acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. This process is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating developmental processes, as aberrant expression or activity of HDAC4 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, HDAC4 interacts with several other proteins, such as transcription factor MEF2, which is involved in muscle differentiation and neuronal function, highlighting importance in cellular signaling pathways. Using anti-HDAC4 antibody (A-4) in research can provide valuable insights into regulatory mechanisms of gene expression and potential therapeutic targets for diseases associated with dysregulated histone acetylation.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-46672 X be used instead of the standard form sc-46672?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs ultra ECL, also detects a smaller 60 kd bandUsing human blood monocyte derived macrophages, 25 ug total cell lysate ran on midi gels, 1:500 dilution in milk, 1:4000 2nd Ab CST anti-mouse we could detect a band at right size using Ultra lightning ECL. But there is also a smaller band ~60kda which is weaker.
