GSK-3α/β Antibody (1H8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3) in mouse, rat, human, and Xenopus laevis by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). GSK-3 is a serine/threonine, proline-directed kinase that plays a crucial role in various signaling pathways, including those involved in glycogen synthesis and cellular adhesion, and has been linked to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer′s disease. Notably, GSK-3 exists in two isoforms, GSK-3α and GSK-3β, which differ in their subcellular localization and functional roles. GSK-3 is primarily located in the cytoplasm but can translocate to the nucleus, where GSK-3 influences gene expression and cellular responses. This localization allows GSK-3 to modulate various cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, thereby impacting overall cellular health and function. Dysregulation of GSK-3 activity has been implicated in several diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders, making GSK-3 a critical target for therapeutic intervention. GSK-3 also phosphorylates Tau, a microtubule-binding protein, leading to Tau hyperphosphorylation and the formation of paired helical filaments, a hallmark of Alzheimer′s disease pathology. Anti-GSK-3α/β antibody (1H8) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the complex roles of GSK-3 in health and disease.

Does this antibody recognize the GSK3a/b fragments? Such as 30kd, and 15kd?

Are there any issues with using sc-56913: GSK-3α/β (1H8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody.
