GS27 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GS27 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GS27 (F-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GS27 plays a crucial role in the vesicular transport system within eukaryotic cells, specifically in the trafficking of proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus and between Golgi subcompartments. GS27, along with GS28, belongs to the SNARE protein family, which is essential for the formation of the SNARE complex that facilitates membrane fusion. Proper functioning of this complex is critical for the transport of membrane-directed proteins, as specific pairing of vesicle-associated SNAREs with target membrane SNAREs drives the fusion of lipid bilayers. The human GS27 gene is located on chromosome 17q21, near a locus associated with familial essential hypertension, suggesting potential involvement in this condition.
