    GS2-like Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GS2-like protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GS2-like (G-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GS2-like protein, also known as patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 5 (PNPLA5), plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and is involved in the regulation of triglyceride levels within cells. PNPLA5 is primarily expressed in adipose tissue, where PNPLA5 may significantly contribute to lipolysis, the process of breaking down fats for energy. This function is particularly important in the context of metabolic disorders, as the regulation of lipid storage and mobilization is vital for maintaining energy homeostasis. Additionally, PNPLA5 is strongly induced in the liver of ob/ob mice, highlighting PNPLA5′s potential role in obesity-related metabolic pathways. PNPLA5 expression is regulated similarly to that of adiponutrin (ADPN), although PNPLA5 mRNA levels are lower, suggesting a nuanced role in lipid metabolism that warrants further investigation.

    Thank you for your question. Yes, GS2-like (G-1): sc-376365 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
