Grim19 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Grim19 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Grim19, also known as gene associated with retinoic-interferon-induced mortality 19 protein or cell death-regulatory protein Grim-19, plays a crucial role in cellular processes by functioning as a member of the mitochondrial complex I, where Grim19 is essential for the assembly and electron transfer activity of the complex. Grim19 is vital for transferring electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain, thereby facilitating ATP production, which is critical for cellular energy metabolism. Additionally, Grim19 is involved in the interferon/all-trans-retinoic acid (IFN/RA) cell death pathway, where Grim19 induces apoptosis, highlighting Grim19′s potential as a tumor suppressor. Grim19 primarily localizes to the mitochondrion, with the ability to translocate to the nucleus upon IFN/RA treatment, underscoring Grim19′s importance in regulating both metabolic and apoptotic pathways. Given Grim19′s dual role in energy production and apoptosis, Grim19 may serve as a valuable biological marker or therapeutic target in cancer research and drug development.
