granzyme A Antibody (3G8.5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects granzyme A protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-granzyme A antibody (3G8.5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Granzyme A plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly in the induction of apoptosis in target cells, which is essential for maintaining tissue homeostasis and eliminating infected or malignant cells. This serine protease is primarily located within cytolytic granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells, where granzyme A is stored as an inactive proenzyme until released during the degranulation process. Upon activation, granzyme A induces apoptosis through a unique pathway that involves the induction of single-strand DNA breaks and membrane perturbation, distinguishing its mechanism from that of granzyme B, which primarily activates caspases. The ability of granzyme A to function independently of caspase activation highlights its importance in the immune system′s ability to eliminate cells that pose a threat, making granzyme A a vital target for research in immunology and cancer therapy.

Can granzyme A (3G8.5): sc-33692 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, granzyme A (3G8.5): sc-33692 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
