SEE ALSO...

GCS-α-1 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GCS-alpha-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GCS-α-1 (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GCS-alpha-1, a crucial component of guanylate cyclases, plays a significant role in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) synthesis, vital for numerous physiological processes, including smooth muscle relaxation, neurotransmission, and platelet function. Located primarily in cytoplasm and membrane of cells, GCS-alpha-1 acts as a receptor for nitric oxide (NO), a key signaling molecule in cardiovascular system. GCS-alpha-1 and NO interaction is essential for regulating vascular tone and blood flow, making GCS-alpha-1 a critical target for therapeutic interventions in cardiovascular diseases. GCS-alpha-1 exists as a heme-containing heterodimer, composed of an α subunit (GCS-α-1) and a β subunit, with heme moiety facilitating NO activation. GCS-alpha-1 can be stimulated by carbon monoxide, which binds to heme group, albeit with weaker efficacy. Presence of allosteric activators, such as YC-1, further enhances enzymatic activity, underscoring regulation complexity and importance of understanding GCS-alpha-1 function in health and disease.

Does this antibody work for ICC?

Asked by: Zhang121
Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody should work with that application, especially when using with a corresponding isotype specific binding protein. A link to our binding proteins is provided below. https://www.scbt.com/browse/mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-130b1ry

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of avian origin. Do you know if sc-376502: GCS-α-1 (D-9) mouse monoclonal antibody will work?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis and review our data to answer any questions you may have about additional species reactivity.
