Fatty Acid Synthase Antibody (G-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FASN antibody (G-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FASN plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, specifically in the synthesis of long-chain saturated fatty acids, which are essential for cellular membrane integrity and energy storage. FASN functions as a homodimer and contains seven unique catalytic sites that facilitate the conversion of acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA into fatty acids, utilizing NADPH as a cofactor.
