FAM50A Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects FAM50A in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FAM50A Antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FAM50A, also known as family with sequence similarity 50, member A, DXS9928E, HXC26, or XAP5, is a 339 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role as a transcription factor, potentially binding to DNA and regulating gene expression. FAM50A expression is widespread, with highest levels found in fetal kidney, liver, and brain tissues, as well as in adult heart, spleen, skeletal muscle, prostate, and small intestine. An SV40 large T antigen nuclear localization signal within FAM50A facilitates transport into the nucleus for regulatory functions. A polymorphic CCG repeat region in the 5′-untranslated region of the FAM50A gene may influence expression and function. Defects in the gene encoding FAM50A have been linked to acute lymphoblastic leukemia, highlighting potential involvement in carcinogenesis and making FAM50A a valuable target for research in cancer biology.
