SEE ALSO...

ERK 5 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ERK 5 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ERK 5 antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ERK 5, a member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family, plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, and survival, making ERK 5 essential for normal cellular function and response to external stimuli. ERK 5 is localized primarily in the nucleus, where ERK 5 regulates gene expression by phosphorylating transcription factors, thereby influencing various signaling pathways vital for cell growth and development. The unique structure of ERK 5, characterized by a long C-terminal extension compared to other ERK family members, allows for specific interactions with distinct substrates and regulatory proteins, further emphasizing ERK 5′s role in mediating cellular responses. Dual phosphorylation at specific threonine and tyrosine residues regulates ERK 5 activation, which is critical for enzymatic activity and downstream signaling. Understanding ERK 5 function and regulation is important for elucidating ERK 5′s involvement in various diseases, including cancer, where aberrant signaling pathways can lead to uncontrolled cell growth.
