    SEE ALSO...

ENDOG Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Endonuclease G (ENDOG) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ENDOG is a crucial nuclear-encoded protein that plays a significant role in mitochondrial function by localizing to the mitochondria, where anti-ENDOG antibody (C-1) exhibits sugar-nonspecific nuclease activity, primarily cleaving single-stranded DNA. This enzyme is synthesized as a propeptide with an amino-terminal presequence that directs ENDOG to the mitochondria, and upon apoptotic stimulation, ENDOG translocates to the nuclei, functioning as a nuclease without sequence specificity. Notably, ENDOG is involved in the generation of RNA primers necessary for mitochondrial DNA replication, as ENDOG possesses ribonuclease and RNase H activities, which are essential for the proper functioning of DNA polymerase gamma. ENDOG′s ability to cleave DNA at GC tracts is particularly important for maintaining mitochondrial DNA integrity during apoptosis, ensuring efficient DNA breakdown in apoptotic cells. ENDOG is located in the mitochondrial intermembrane space, highlighting a specialized role in mitochondrial dynamics, while mapping to chromosome 9q34.11 in humans underscores genetic significance. ENDOG monoclonal antibody (C-1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function, apoptosis, and the intricate mechanisms of DNA metabolism.
