EMAP II Antibody (546-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the precursor and mature forms of EMAP II in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). EMAP II, also known as small inducible cytokine subfamily E, member 1 (SCYE1), plays a crucial role as a chemoattractant cytokine for monocytes and granulocytes, particularly in inflammation and immune response. EMAP II is primarily located in the extracellular space, where various cell types, including tumor cells, secrete EMAP II, and this localization is vital for mediating immune cell recruitment to sites of tissue damage or infection. Notably, EMAP II release from tumor-associated vasculature enhances blood vessel sensitivity to tumor necrosis factor, thereby influencing the tumor microenvironment and potentially affecting tumor progression. ProEMAP II is synthesized and subsequently undergoes proteolytic cleavage to yield the mature, biologically active cytokine, which is essential for modulating inflammatory responses. Understanding EMAP II secretion and function dynamics can provide insights into therapeutic strategies targeting inflammatory diseases and cancer.
