EMAP II Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects EMAP II of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EMAP II antibody (A-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAP II), also known as small inducible cytokine subfamily E, member 1 (SCYE1), plays a crucial role as a chemoattractant cytokine for monocytes and granulocytes, particularly in inflammation and immune response. EMAP II is primarily located in the extracellular space, where various cell types, including tumor cells, secrete this protein. EMAP II′s presence in the tumor microenvironment significantly influences immune cell behavior and the vascular system. EMAP II is induced by apoptotic signals, and release of EMAP II can sensitize tumor-associated vasculature to tumor necrosis factor, enhancing anti-tumor therapy efficacy. ProEMAP II, the precursor form, undergoes proteolytic cleavage to yield the mature, biologically active cytokine, which mediates inflammatory responses. ProEMAP II may also bind RNA as part of the tRNA synthetase complex in normal cells, highlighting multiple functions in both physiological and pathological contexts.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393228 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
