SEE ALSO...

EF-1 ε1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EF-1 epsilon 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EF-1 ε1 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EF-1 epsilon 1 protein, also known as Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 epsilon-1 or Multisynthetase complex auxiliary component p18, is a crucial 174 amino acid protein that plays a significant role in the translation process by facilitating the delivery of aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome, thus promoting mRNA elongation. EF-1 epsilon 1 is part of a multi-protein complex that includes α, β, γ, and δ subunits, which work synergistically to ensure efficient protein synthesis. EF-1 epsilon 1 interacts specifically with Methionyl-tRNA synthetase, forming a macromolecular tRNA synthetase complex that is essential for the accurate ligation of amino acids to their corresponding tRNAs. EF-1 epsilon 1 has been implicated in cellular responses to DNA damage; upon such stress, EF-1 epsilon 1 translocates to the nucleus and interacts with ATM and ATR kinases, leading to the activation of the tumor suppressor protein p53. Loss of EF-1 epsilon 1 in murine models has been associated with increased susceptibility to spontaneous tumors, highlighting EF-1 epsilon 1′s potential role as a tumor suppressor and importance in maintaining genomic integrity.
