EEA1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EEA1 in mouse, rat, human, and monkey samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EEA1 Antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EEA1, or early endosome antigen 1, plays a crucial role in the endocytic pathway by facilitating the fusion of early endosomes, which are essential for sorting and transporting endocytosed proteins. EEA1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where EEA1 co-localizes with the transferrin receptor and Rab5, highlighting EEA1′s importance in membrane trafficking and protein sorting. EEA1 contains specific structural motifs, such as a calmodulin-binding IQ motif and a cysteine-rich finger motif, which are vital for EEA1′s localization to early endosomes. Additionally, EEA1 shares sequence homology with several yeast proteins involved in membrane trafficking, including Vps27, Fab1, and Vac1, suggesting evolutionary conservation of EEA1′s function. The regulatory effects of 3′-phosphoinositides on membrane trafficking further underscore the significance of EEA1 in cellular processes, making anti-EEA1 antibody (E-8) an invaluable tool for researchers studying endosomal dynamics and protein transport mechanisms.

How is the G-4 different from the E-8 antibody?

Thank you for your question. These two mouse monoclonal antibodies are raised against different EEA1 antigens and have distinct epitopes. EEA1 Antibody (G-4): sc-137130 is raised against a recombinant protein antigen corresponding to amino acids 1-300 of EEA1 of human origin. And EEA1 Antibody (E-8): sc-365652 is raised against a peptide mapping between amino acids 2-27 of EEA1 of human origin.
