Is there a blocking/neutralazing peptide for dsg1 (B-11): sc-137164 antibody?

Asked by: Nico86
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not offer a blocking peptide for this antibody. You can use a normal mouse IgG/IgG2b as a negative control. You can find these controls here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/Control-IgGs-and-IgG-Conjugates/_/N-1j3ajah

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with dsg1 (B-11): sc-137164 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for IF staining on mouse skin IF staining was performed on normal mouse skin, showing positive staining on suprabasal layers as expected.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too many non-specific binding Used at 1:500 diluition for WB with NHEK and mKer cell lysates shows a lot of non-specific binding. The same happens when used for IF at 1:100 diluition with mouse epidermis section and mKer culture.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Non-specific binding Used a 1:300 dilution for WB with Sum159, Caco-2, and 293T cell lysates. Strong signal but too much non-specific binding to be usable.
