SEE ALSO...

DNA pol α Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DNA pol alpha (DNA pol α) protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DNA pol α antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DNA pol α protein plays a crucial role in DNA replication, synthesizing the RNA-DNA primer necessary for initiating DNA strand synthesis. This function maintains genomic stability, as replication errors can lead to mutations and genomic instability, which are hallmarks of many diseases, including cancer. DNA pol α belongs to a larger family of DNA polymerases working collaboratively to ensure accurate DNA replication and repair. DNA pol α interaction with other polymerases, such as DNA pol δ and ε, coordinates activities to manage DNA synthesis and repair, maintaining genome integrity.

Can DNA pol α (D-7): sc-137021 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, DNA pol α (D-7): sc-137021 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
