DMGDH Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects DMGDH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DMGDH (E-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DMGDH protein, also known as dimethylglycine dehydrogenase, is an 866 amino acid mitochondrial enzyme that plays a crucial role in choline catabolism by catalyzing the conversion of dimethylglycine to sarcosine, a process vital for maintaining proper metabolic function. DMGDH exists as a monomer and belongs to the gcvT family, utilizing flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and folate as essential cofactors for enzymatic activity. DMGDH is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5q14.1, and mutations in this gene can lead to DMGDH deficiency, a condition characterized by symptoms such as muscle fatigue, a distinctive fish-like odor, and elevated levels of N,N-dimethylglycine in urine. DMGDH′s ability to regulate dimethylglycine levels is important for preventing metabolic disturbances, making anti-DMGDH antibody (E-6) a valuable tool for researchers studying metabolic pathways and related disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393178 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
