Derlin-2/3 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Derlin-2 and Derlin-3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Derlin-2/3 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Derlin proteins, which include Derlin-2 and Derlin-3, play a vital role in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) quality control system by facilitating the degradation of misfolded ER luminal proteins. These multi-pass membrane proteins are primarily located in the ER, where Derlin-2/3 proteins are essential for the translocation of misfolded proteins to the cytosol for degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. This process is crucial for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of dysfunctional proteins, which can lead to various diseases. Notably, Derlin-2 has been implicated in hepatocarcinomas, highlighting Derlin-2′s potential role in cancer biology. Additionally, Derlin-2 and Derlin-3 are widely expressed across various tissues, with the highest levels found in the spleen, pancreas, lung, liver, thymus, and ovary, indicating their importance in diverse physiological processes.
