Decorin Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Decorin of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Decorin antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Decorin, a member of the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family, plays a crucial role in the extracellular matrix by regulating collagen fibrillogenesis and maintaining tissue integrity. Decorin′s structure features a core protein with ten leucine-rich repeats, which are essential for interactions with collagen types I, II, and IV, thereby influencing the mechanical properties of connective tissues. Decorin binds various growth factors and matrix molecules, such as fibronectin and thrombospondin, which are vital for cellular signaling and tissue repair processes. Decorin also interacts with transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ), acting as a negative modulator of its synthesis, which is significant in the context of fibrosis and inflammatory diseases. The human Decorin gene is located on chromosome 12q21.33 and encodes a 359 amino acid protein, underscoring its importance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
