    SEE ALSO...

Decorin Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Decorin of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Decorin antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Decorin is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) that plays a crucial role in the extracellular matrix by binding to collagen types I, II, and IV, thereby influencing the structural integrity and mechanical properties of tissues. Decorin′s unique structure, characterized by a core protein containing ten leucine-rich repeats and glycosaminoglycan chains, allows interaction with various growth factors and matrix molecules, such as fibronectin and thrombospondin. This interaction is vital for regulating cellular activities, including proliferation and differentiation, and for maintaining tissue homeostasis. Additionally, Decorin acts as a negative regulator of transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ), which is significant in modulating fibrotic responses and inflammation. Dysregulation of Decorin expression, particularly in inflammatory joint diseases, can lead to cartilage destruction, highlighting its importance in both normal physiology and disease states. The human Decorin gene is located on chromosome 12q21.33 and encodes a 359 amino acid protein, underscoring its evolutionary conservation and functional significance across species.
