DAZAP1 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects DAZAP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DAZAP1, or deleted in azoospermia-associated protein 1, is a 407 amino acid RNA-binding protein crucial for normal spermatogenesis, as DAZAP1 interacts with the DAZ gene, which is associated with infertility in men. DAZAP1 is primarily localized in the nucleus of round spermatids and in the cytoplasm of elongated spermatids, highlighting DAZAP1′s essential role in germ cell development. DAZAP1 contains two RNA recognition motifs that facilitate binding to DAZ mRNA, promoting the translation of DAZ proteins necessary for spermatogenesis. Notably, DAZAP1 phosphorylation leads to dissociation from DAZ mRNA, thereby regulating the expression of DAZ proteins and ensuring proper protein translation. Furthermore, DAZAP1 can form a fusion with the DNA-binding protein MEF-2D, which may disrupt critical signaling pathways and contribute to leukemogenesis. While DAZAP1 is predominantly expressed in the testis, DAZAP1 is also found at lower levels in the thymus, heart, liver, brain, and pancreas, and two DAZAP1 isoforms arise from alternative splicing events, adding complexity to functional roles in cellular processes.
