SEE ALSO...

cyt19 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects cyt19 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). cyt19 (D-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. cyt19 protein, also known as arsenite methyltransferase, plays a crucial role in the metabolism of inorganic arsenic by catalyzing the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to trivalent arsenicals, resulting in the formation of less toxic methylated metabolites. Specifically, cyt19 methylates arsenite to produce methylarsonate, which is subsequently reduced to methylarsonite, a substrate that is further converted into dimethylarsinate, a significantly less toxic compound. cyt19 localization in the cytoplasm enables efficient interaction with substrates and facilitates the detoxification process. cyt19 expression is highest in the liver, an organ central to detoxification, and inherited variations in cyt19 gene may influence individual differences in arsenic metabolism and susceptibility to arsenic-related carcinogenesis in humans.

I am using cyt19 (D-1): sc-376537 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
