CYP11B1 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CYP11B1 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CYP11B1 antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CYP11B1, also known as 11beta-hydroxylase, plays a crucial role in steroidogenesis, specifically in the conversion of 11-deoxycortisol to cortisol in the adrenal cortex, which is vital for regulating metabolism, immune response, and blood pressure. CYP11B1 consists of 466 amino acids and features a secretory signal, epidermal growth factor-like repeats, and a proteolytically inactive cathepsin B-related sequence, highlighting a complex structure essential for enzymatic function. CYP11B1 is closely related to human aldosterone synthase (CYP11B2), which is involved in aldosterone synthesis, and interaction between these proteins is significant for maintaining electrolyte balance and blood pressure. Dysregulation of CYP11B1 can lead to conditions such as glucocorticoid-remediable aldosteronism, characterized by excessive aldosterone production and associated health complications.
