CYP11B1 Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CYP11B1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP11B1 (H-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CYP11B1 plays a crucial role in steroidogenesis, specifically in the conversion of 11-deoxycortisol to cortisol, which is vital for regulating metabolism, immune response, and stress response in humans. CYP11B1 is primarily located in the zona fasciculata of the adrenal cortex, where CYP11B1 is essential for glucocorticoid production. Proper functioning of CYP11B1 is critical, as dysregulation can lead to disorders such as glucocorticoid-remediable aldosteronism, characterized by excessive aldosterone production and associated hypertension. CYP11B1 consists of 466 amino acids and features a secretory signal, epidermal growth factor-like repeats, and a proteolytically inactive cathepsin B-related sequence, highlighting CYP11B1′s complex structure and functional significance in steroid hormone biosynthesis.
