CUL-1 Antibody (AS97) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CUL-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). CUL-1 (AS97) monoclonal antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CUL-1 plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, functioning as a key component of the SCF (Skp1/CUL-1/F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, which is essential for the targeted degradation of specific proteins. This process is vital for regulating the cell cycle, as CUL-1 mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of critical cell cycle regulators such as cyclin D, p21, and cyclin E. By controlling the levels of these proteins, CUL-1 ensures proper cell cycle progression and prevents uncontrolled cell proliferation, which is a hallmark of cancer. CUL-1′s interaction with F-box proteins, such as Skp2, determines the substrate specificity of the SCF complex, further highlighting CUL-1′s importance in cellular regulation. CUL-1′s ability to modulate protein levels through ubiquitination underscores CUL-1′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and potential as a therapeutic target in cancer and other diseases.
