CRALBP Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CRALBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CRALBP antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CRALBP, or cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein, plays a crucial role in the visual cycle by binding to 11-cis-retinol and facilitating transport within the retina. CRALBP is predominantly located in the retinal pigment epithelium and Müller cells, where CRALBP is essential for recycling visual chromophores, thereby influencing rhodopsin regeneration and the overall visual process. Mutations in CRALBP can lead to significant retinal pathologies, including delayed dark adaptation, highlighting CRALBP′s importance in maintaining visual function. CRALBP knockout mice exhibit impaired rhodopsin regeneration and reduced production of 11-cis-retinal, further underscoring CRALBP′s critical role in the visual cycle.
